Business Breakfast: Water & The Circular Economy

  • PwC UK 2 Glass Wharf Bristol BS2 0FR United Kingdom (map)

The Future Economy Network is thrilled to be co-hosting this event with PwC UK, we will be welcoming representatives from Bristol Water, subscribers Halcyan Water Conditioners and IWS Design Limited to speak at this event and discuss Water & The Circular Economy.

Paul Kelson, Water Efficiency Manager at Bristol Water will be talking about a research project that is looking at the Food-Energy-Water Nexus. Bristol Water are working with partners from Vienna, Berlin and Doha to develop water, energy and food models that will be used to run localised scenarios, developed through regional stakeholder workshops,  with the intention of adding useful  insight that could be helpful to further inform and possibly  influence the further development of local policy with regard to this Nexus.

Samantha Mant, Managing Director of Halcyan Water Conditioners will be discussing the important but often overlooked link between energy consumption and efficient water usage, the water-energy nexus. Samantha will be exploring the extent of how addressing efficient water management can significantly reduce energy consumption in domestic, commercial and industrial systems, saving money and tonnes of carbon. With such an easy, long-term win, the discussion will explore if this is the next ‘insulation’ no-brainer for saving millions of tonnes of carbon?

David George, IWS Design Limited will be talking about "Practical Water Saving Tips for Business as well as your home." Many Sustainable Water Target methodologies introduced in the buildings sector have a history of Tickbox and numeric compliance whilst not meeting the expectation the water savings. Is this Behaviour or Technology's failure?
