News from the Future Economy Group
Phew, this month has been a busy one so far! Progress continues on our new carbon neutral sustainability hub. We are pretty much down to a blank canvass and now it is decision time as to how the re-fit should look. These decisions have been greatly aided by the support of our Architects and some of our Network Susbscribers who took the time one evening to tour the building and share their thoughts on how we can achieve carbon neutrality. Huge thanks to all of you who attended! And a big welcome to Environmental Consultancy Masters student, Jess who alongside Simon from Carbon Lens, will be helping us with measuring our carbon footprint. Looking forward to working with you both!
This month also saw the launch of our exhibitor and sponsorship packages for the Festival of Sustainable Business taking place on 17th September 2019 in Bristol. We’re so excited about further assisting the business community to get on board and progress their sustainability actions by exhibiting/attending/sponsoring the festival. With an anticipated 2000+ attendees, 60+ exhibitors, 10 seminars and a gala dinner, it is set to be an exciting day for all things sustainability! To register your attendance at the expo, click here!
Our weekly events programme continues to flourish with some incredibly well attended events, excellent speakers and engaged networking. This month saw events on the themes of Sustainable Food and Drink and Heat Networks and we look forward to our evening event this Thursday on The Future of Energy Systems (a few spaces left if of interest) and of course our very popular, monthly Netwalking to round off the month’s events programme.
And the networking continued for the Future Economy Group with our attendance at the lively Get Connected Expo at We The Curious and then the Fair Trade South West Business Awards ceremony at Arnos Vale Cemetery. Congratulations to all award winners! Great to learn about all the good work you are doing!
